Buy #1: Drew Eubanks

Analysis: The first of this week’s trio of bigs. We knew minutes on this Suns team would be up for the taking, but I’m not sure many predicted Eubanks to get caught up in a full on position battle for starter minutes with Nurkic. He’s pretty firmly entrenched as the backup as of writing this but he’s played more minutes than Nurk once this season, and while yes, Nurk has been banged up a little bit, I wouldn’t discount what Eubanks is doing here. Those blocks are playable in any format, and a couple of out of position assists are pretty nice for what you’re getting here. Really think you should keep an eye on him, as he’s already a pretty elite streamer. If Nurkic goes down, we could see some monster statlines from Eubanks.

He’s currently ranked #121 in 9cat leagues ahead of guys like Siakam, Mitch Rob, Lively, and Giannis (lol)

Relevancy: 12t and below streamer. Must add in 14+

Buy #2: Dario Saric

718.4.401.7541.68.16.62.00.30.61.1

Analysis: The Homie has revitalized his career in the Bay. Saric seems to be the exact type of big that the Warriors need off the bench, and he’s got a firm hold on all of the backup center minutes. While he may not be a high ranking 9cat guy due to his FG and lack of stocks to this point, he’s an excellent counting stats guy. Somewhat of a Kuzma-lite. Like Eubanks, Dario is turning out to be a pretty awesome streamer with the upside for more if any injury were to occur to Looney or Draymond. He’s already very rosterable in guard heavy builds and if he gets his steals up back to around where he’s been in his career at 0.6-0.7, he may be rosterable for most builds. I think he’s really underrated as a fantasy asset and should be owned more.

Relevancy: 12t streamer, should be rostered in 14+ leagues

Buy #3: Nick Richards

Season Stats:

617.4.763.7857.25.80.50.32.01.2

Analysis: Nick Richards is turning out to be a per minute beast so far this season. Currently direct backup to Mark Williams, he’s still putting up very usable numbers. If he played 20 or so minutes a game and managed to average 10 PPG, he’d be right up there with guys like Zubac and Daniel Gafford. He’s another guy who’s an injury away from being the hottest pickup in fantasy. I would almost be certain he’s currently on your waiver wire and his 2 BPG can lock down the category for you. Yes, he’s a boring player to own, but he can get it done at a fraction of the cost (probably free).

He’s currently ranked #117 in 9cat on the year, just one spot below Jakob Poeltl. Mainly because he’s an elite blocks source that won’t nuke your FT%.

Relevancy: Would roster in 12t+

Sell #1: Cam Thomas

Season Stats:

633.1.474.8461.826.04.02.31.00.71.2

Has Cam Thomas been finally unleashed? Maybe. Although I’m not buying. Currently ranked #40 on the year in 9Cat, there’s a few things that are concerning to me. The fact he’s scoring 26 points a game with under 2 threes per game is an indicator of just how insanely high his usage is right now, both in the field and at the line. The Nets are missing both Cam Johnson and Nic Claxton, and both Ben Simmons and Spencer Dinwiddie have been banged up at various points this season. I just have a really hard time believing that when Cam Johnson returns he doesn’t take up a very significant amount of that usage. Something else to consider is that I think the stocks are not here to stay. Prior to this season, he had registered 15 total blocks in 124 appearances. In this season, he has 4 in 6 appearances. I think the blocks are an outlier and are artificially inflating his ranking. The steals may stay about the same, as his per 36 number in his career in 0.9.

However, if the minutes, and subsequently the shots go down, he can still be useful, but not nearly to the extent he is now. I think this is a massive sell high opportunity for somebody who is more proven in a less murky situation when the team is healthy.

If he loses some of these points, there’s not a whole lot here in terms of fantasy output with a lack of threes, assists, and boards.
