Buy #1: Bilal Coulibaly

This is definitely more of a dynasty buy, and for redraft it’s somebody you’re grabbing if you’re sitting at the top of the standings. Coulibaly is trending up here, and if he’s able to tick his assists up slightly he’ll turn into a must roster guy. His efficiency is awesome, 53% from the field and 41% from behind the arc, although it would be nice to see his volume tick up a bit. The steals are already useable and the blocks are nice as well. He’s ranked #145 over the past two weeks and profiles as a Kyle Anderson type with more 3PM. Massive massive opportunity for some big silly season value here on a terrible Wizards team, and he may start to put up some huge lines even before then.

Buy #2: Derrick Jones Jr.

DJJ has turned from a cardio king from a surprisingly useful fantasy asset on his new squad. What I find particularly interesting about his output this season is that his output has turned out to be a Jaden McDaniels lite (He’s actually outproducing McDaniels this season). Currently ranked 85 over the last 2 weeks, there’s an opportunity there for him to put up some really nice lines over the next couple weeks with Kyrie reportedly leaving the arena in a wheelchair a couple days ago. He’s not a massive upside guy, but can do a little bit of everything outside of assists and won’t hurt you anywhere. Don’t worry too much about the FT%, as he’s only averaging under 2 attempts per game.

Relevancy: Possible dynasty buy, should be owned in 12t+ leagues

Buy #3: Josh Hart

Josh Hart is 100% a floor guy, a nice guy to have on your bench. He’s probably not going to put up any crazy stat lines without an injury. However, he’s bounced back from his slow start the season and should be rostered in 12 teamers, and is a nice trade candidate/buy low in dynasty leagues, and it seems the consensus on him is that his value has been tanked this season. Here’s how he’s looked since Thanksgiving:

Awesome boards out of the guard spot, the steals are back, and he’s taking 3’s (and making them). He’s not getting to line much at all, so his below average FT won’t hurt you at all. Low TOs is a nice plus.

Relevancy: Possible pickup in 10 team, should be owned in 12t+

Sell #1: Jeremy Sochan

Man… I really held Sochan as long as I could, I just don’t think he’s gonna be much of an asset this year after what he’s shown in this starting PG role. He’s now been benched/removed from the PG role, which certainly won’t be good for his value. I mean, possibly the TOs go down, but without the ball in his hands as much as it has been, he’s gonna have a hard time keeping the assist numbers up. He’s definitely a hold in dynasty leagues at least for now just because the stat profile is nice, but I don’t have much hope for the assists to get much higher than they are now ever again. He’s going to need to bump his FG up, get the stocks up, and get the turnovers way way down.

He’s falling into the RJ Barrett territory of incredibly harmful fantasy asset because of his weaknesses in FG and TOs. The worst part being he’s not making any threes to offset his poor FG%. What build does he fit into exactly?
