Buy #1, #2 & #3: Santi Aldama, David Roddy, & GG Jackson

Santi Aldama season stats:
| GP | MPG | FG% | FT% | 3PM | PTS | REB | AST | STL | BLK | TO |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 29 | 23.2 | .438 | .609 | 1.6 | 10.4 | 5.5 | 1.7 | 0.7 | 0.7 | 1.1 |
David Roddy season stats:
| GP | MPG | FG% | FT% | 3PM | PTS | REB | AST | STL | BLK | TO |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 36 | 22.2 | .415 | .711 | 1.0 | 7.8 | 3.7 | 1.3 | 0.6 | 0.3 | 0.9 |
GG Jackson season stats:
| GP | MPG | FG% | FT% | 3PM | PTS | REB | AST | STL | BLK | TO |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 7 | 8.1 | .419 | .667 | 0.6 | 4.6 | 2.0 | 0.3 | 0.1 | 0.4 | 0.4 |
The team that was once good in the West is now the first team to enter silly season. Morant out for the year, Smart & Bane both getting re-evaluated (not necessarily returning) at the start of the fantasy playoffs, plus JJJ is banged up and I predict they may be cautious with him the rest of this season knowing his injury history.
Is Point Santi back on the menu? Maybe. I’m half joking, but I’m not convinced Jacob Gilyard will make it through the rest of the year on the roster. This usage is going to need to get sucked up somewhere, and Santi has put up some crazy statlines when given big minutes this year. He’s the first of 3 players I’m predicting they focus on the development of to round out the season.
Here’s how he fared from Nov 8 to Dec 2nd while the Grizzlies were banged up, playing 24+ mins in each of these games except for two.

His FT not ideal, but there’s some truly elite stat lines mixed in there. Only owned in 10% of Yahoo leagues, he’s my top priority add, and he’s a fantastic buy in dynasty leagues before he full recovers from his current injury.
I’ll also mention both David Roddy and GG who I think are going to be given as many minutes as they can handle here, with GG maybe taking another week or two to be playing every night. Roddy is going to be a nice PTS/3s streamer with some stocks mixed in, and GG has the potential to put up some really nice big man stats as he’s been dominating in the G-League with 19/7.8/2 with 1 steal on 0.8 blocks over 6 games. Definitely more catered to deeper leagues for those two but definitely feel free to get ahead of the curve in competitive 12 teamers if you like.
GG Jackson is the youngest player in the league and has some really nice dynasty league potential. If he’s somehow on waivers in your dynasty league I would grab him asap.
Relevancy: Santi needs to be grabbed in 12+ teamers and some 10 teamers. Roddy and GG are for deeper redraft leagues. Make sure you get GG in your dynasty league if he’s available.
Buy #4: Miles McBride

Season stats:
| GP | MPG | FG% | FT% | 3PM | PTS | REB | AST | STL | BLK | TO |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 27 | 8.1 | .487 | .714 | 0.9 | 3.9 | 0.6 | 0.9 | 0.3 | 0.0 | 0.2 |
McBride is somebody that the Knicks really seem to like. Surprised with an extension after the OG trade that he himself said he didn’t even see coming, it’s possible McBride sticks in the rotation on this playoff Knicks team. Now, don’t get it twisted, he’s really only somebody you’re looking at in the deepest of redraft leagues, but I really like him in deep dynasty leagues and he’s a pretty awesome stream when Brunson is out. He’s shooting 49% from 3 (albeit on low volume) and can grab a handful of assists if he plays a number of minutes. If Brunson or maybe even DiVincenzo miss any kind of extended period, he may turn into a hot pickup.
Relevancy: Only the deepest of redraft leagues, nice dynasty stash for 12+ or leagues with deep benches.
Sell #1: Jaren Jackson Jr.

Keeping on theme here for Memphis, this has nothing to do with his performance on the court. I would be really worried as a JJJ owner with these injuries piling up for Memphis. I usually am not one to worry about shutdowns, but this is about as big of a shutdown candidate as you’re going to find with the injuries he’s had in the past and how gentle they’ve tried to be with his workload to this point in his career. If he picks up kind of ailment around fantasy playoff time, I would expect the Grizzlies to be overtly cautious. Wait for him to string together some crazy stat lines and then sell high for somebody on a team that won’t shut anybody down.
